Volunteers needed for Harry Potter Redux
by Chris Hanel on Feb.28, 2009, under Writing Projects
We’re looking for some help with transcribing the original Harry Potter performance into script format. We improv’d so much during the multiple recording sessions that the original script is useless and a new one needs to be made up.
If you’re willing to volunteer some time, let me know. I’ll supply the script template and instructions. If we get a few people to do it, we can split up the work and make it go really quick. Email me at info at riffrafftheater dot com if you’re interested, we’ll try and figure out some compensation as well.

Riff Raff Writers – Alien Vs. Predator
by Chris Hanel on Jan.29, 2009, under Writing Projects
Alright, everyone, sharpen your wits, you’re going to need them for this one. We’re giving you a bit more time because we want to knock this one out of the park. And believe me, there’s a whole lot of big, empty, really dumb space to fill.
The Film: Alien vs. Predator (2004)
Multiple Editions?: Yes. We are riffing the original theatrical DVD, *NOT* The “Unrated Director’s Cut”. On a side note, This DVD was one of the first to abuse the term “Unrated” with such shameless transparency as to make marketing people start to question whether they felt guilty for starting this trend. (This lasted for .52 seconds before they went back to serving as minions of Satan.)
Due Date: March 15th
So, you wanna join the team? Here’s what you do.
- Get Alien vs. Predator
Not nearly as shamefull as owning Armageddon, but its available on Netflix if you’re the type that just can’t be tethered to a DVD collection. - Download our script template
Make sure you have Excel or OpenOffice, and download our Script Template. - (Optional) Download the timecode
If you’re the especially nitpicky writer, you can download our .srt file in order to re-author your DVD and have a timecode displayed on screen at all times. - Write and submit your script!
Email your scripts to scripts@riffrafftheater.com.
Want to know how to re-author your DVD? Follow James’s guide (sorry, coming soon!)
It’s legalese, but it’s important: By submitting riff material, you agree to allow Riff Raff Theater to use that material for the purposes of recording the audio commentary track, as well as live performances. Riff Raff Theater reserves the right to modify or omit any material submitted to us, or to use that material in future projects, as appropriate. Feel free to use foul language or suggestive material if you feel it fits the situation, but again remember that we may need to edit it out depending on the situation (riffs for live shows in particular will usually need to match the rating of the movie being riffed).
Riff Raff Writers: The Day After Tomorrow
by Chris Hanel on Nov.15, 2008, under Writing Projects
Riff Raff Theater’s next script project is Al Gore’s wet dream of a movie, “The Day After Tomorrow”, or as we like to call it, “An Inconvenient Piece of Crap”. Accepting scripts until December 1st.
The Film: The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
Multiple Editions?: Yes. We are riffing the original theatrical DVD, *NOT* the 2-Disc “Collector’s Edition” or the myriad of Box Set’s.
Due Date: December 1st
